Workshop

Football as a Global Industry; Sport, Ethics and Society

Ethical football shirt
Students examine how global sport operates through transnational flows of players, money, goods, and media, but remains unequal: wealth concentrates in Western Europe while talent is drawn from Africa and South America. Hidden human costs persist, from poor factory labor conditions to exploitation in mega-event construction, alongside growing geopolitical influence through state-backed club ownership, sportswashing, and governance failure.
